SICE FES 2025 Cultivating Future Innovators Through Robotics Robotics Engineering and Artificial Intelligence Program, Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, Chiang Mai, Thailand

SICE FES 2025, an accessible public outreach initiative, will be hosted by the Robotics Engineering and Artificial Intelligence Program, Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, Thailand. This year's event themed "Learning by Playing with Robots" is specifically designed for local school students interested in robotics, offering complimentary admission.

Robotics serves as an exceptional medium for developing essential 21st-century competencies. Engaging with robotics programming fosters creative thinking and problem-solving skills. The inherently interdisciplinary nature of robotics challenges participants to apply their knowledge across science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and computer programming. Beyond technical proficiencies, this hands-on experience also nurtures crucial teamwork and communication abilities as students collaborate to devise innovative solutions.

Participants will engage in workshops led by faculty members from the Robotics Engineering and Artificial Intelligence Program. These workshops aim to provide a supportive and immersive learning environment, ensuring a rewarding and beneficial experience for all students. In addition to the workshops, three distinct programs will be offered:

  1. Zip-line robot using ESP-32
Students will learn how to make and control Zipline Robot.
    Mr. Chanotnon Peerakam
  2. Arduino-based Control of Simulated Robotic Arms
Students will learn how to program Robotic Arms using Arduino.
    Chakkapong Chamroon, Ph. D.
  3. Artificial hand controlled by OpenCV-based programming
Students will learn how to use AI (Open CV) for controlling Artificial hand.
    Autanan Wannachai, Ph. D.
