Abstract
We plan special panel session on safety and secure control system for realizing smart manufacturing. “Safety and secure control system” is important for realizing smart manufacturing. This special panel session covers the latest topics of safety and secure control system including below topics under the environment of IT/OT convergency in ICS (Industry Control System) for realizing smart manufacturing. This session includes the following five talks:
Talk1: Challenges of cyber security for plant end user (Mr. Akio Ito)
Talk2: Regulation and government policy (Mr. Hiroo Kanamaru)
Talk3: Cybersecurity readiness for upcoming regulations (Mr. Alexander Koehler)
Talk4: Security self-assessment tool for end users (Mr. Takayuki Arai )
Talk5: Challenge for end users: side effects caused by cybersecurity measures (Dr. Daisuke Tsuji)
Speakers' Biographies
Chair:
Mr. Youichi Takayanagi (Toshiba Infrastructure Systems & Solutions Corporation, Japan)
He is an expert of industrial network and related equipment and instrument. He is a former chair of Technical Division on Industrial Applications of SICE.
Co-chair:
Mr. Eigo Fukai (Toshiba Infrastructure Systems & Solutions Corporation, Japan)
He is an expert and has long experiences of development and research for industrial controller.
Moderator:
Mr. Yasumichi Kori (UL Japan Inc., Japan)
Yasumichi Kori has engaged in various testing, inspection and certification projects as commercial function and global account management for broad industries and standards/regulations across countries, since he joined UL in 2008.
Panelists:
Mr. Akio Ito (Yokogawa Electric Corporation, Japan /FDT Group, Belgium /Industrial Open-Network Laboratory in Waseda University, Japan)
He is an expert of field device management. He is a former chair of Technical Division on Industrial Applications of SICE.
Mr. Alexander Koehler (UL LLC, Germany)
Alexander Koehler is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and has been involved in the development of industry security technologies, standards, and regulations such as IEC 62443 since 2000. He has worked for HP, Texas Instruments, Dell Computers as well as the German Ministry of Economics and Energy as the cybersecurity section head. He works for UL Solutions as Global SME Expert for cybersecurity in industry and is the Chairman of the German National Advisory board for cybersecurity conformity assessment.
Mr. Hiroo Kanamaru (Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Japan)
He has long experiences regarding safety and security in industrial automation, and an expert of IEC 61508, IEC 62443, and IEC TR 63069: Framework to bridge the requirements for safety and security. He is a president of ISA Japan section.
Mr. Takayuki Arai (Yokogawa Electric Corporation, Japan)
Takayuki Arai is a Security Engineer in the Innovation Center at the Yokogawa Electric Corporation. He has been working in the ICS security domain for 14 years. He is a member of SICE/JEITA/JEMIMA Security Working Group and he has participated in the creation of the “J-CLICS (Check List for Industrial Control Systems of Japan)” security self-assessment tool for ICS users.
Dr. Daisuke Tsuji (Hitachi, Ltd.)
He is currently working on research projects of digital twin technologies focusing on the application to cybersecurity fields. He is experienced in the development and utilization of cybersecurity tools for Industrial Control Systems. He also specializes in the mathematical and physical modeling.
